Lincoln County Sheriffs Office Report Week Ending October 27
LINCOLN COUNTY – Last week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 19 traffic stops, twelve security checks, twelve calls involving cars hitting deer, and three calls of cars hitting other wildlife. There were five calls for unsafe driving.
On Tuesday Oct. 22nd, a deputy stopped a vehicle on US HWY 8 in the Town of Bradley for speeding and failure to secure a load. While speaking with the 64-yr-old driver from Rhinelander, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. Given results from sobriety testing, he was placed under arrest for OWI, second offense. The driver was also found to be in possession of a shotgun. He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and booked for OWI, being armed while intoxicated and several traffic violations.
